Episode 51: Chris Davies

It’s the question everyone is asking as we slowly emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic? Now what!?

And, even as we ask that question, there are many parts of the country and all across the world where people and communities are very much still suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic. So, indeed, now what?

One thing for sure, things will never be the same. And while we are all in the same boat, trying to navigate uncharted seas, we need to seek the insights and experiences of those who have years of “seafaring” experience.

In short, while not even the smartest or most “spiritual” pastor or church leader can predict the future or know what will even come next Sunday, we need to listen and learn from faithful leaders who through sharing their insights, experiences, and connection—we can together seek to discern what our faithful next steps might be.

Enter Rev. Dr. Chris S. Davies, Team Leader of Faith Education, Innovation, and Formation, Justice and Local Church Ministries at the national setting for the United Church of Christ. In her position, Chris connects with faith leaders across the country and has served with churches at the local, regional, and national levels. Basically, she has seen a thing or two.

In our conversation, Chris shares what she has been doing to help churches during this time, what the biggest challenges they are experiencing, and what advice and ideas she is offering to churches post-Covid.

Rev. Dr. Chris S. Davies is a Connecticut native and a Cleveland transplant. She loves the church deeply and is committed to finding ways to continue to bring the gospel into the world. She attended Smith College for her undergrad work and Andover Newton for both a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry.
